What may affect tonight

  • …

Do we all sleep badly on the same nights?

Some mornings it feels like the whole world is tired. Weather, the moon, the news, a shared kind of stress: maybe our nights are more connected than we think. One tap a day, from everyone, everywhere, and we’ll find out.

Questions

What is Sleep Weather?

A daily, worldwide check-in. Every morning people tap how they slept, and the map shows how each country slept. We want to find out whether whole countries, or the whole world, sleep badly on the same nights.

Is it anonymous?

Yes. There’s no account and no tracking cookie. We read your country from your connection, but we never store your IP address. To stop double votes we keep a scrambled code for two days, then delete it.

How does the sleep forecast work?

It combines tonight’s temperature, humidity, wind and storms near you with the moon, space weather, holidays and clock changes. Each factor shows how well studied it is. It’s an experiment: every morning the votes show whether it was right.

What is “night activity”?

How much people read Wikipedia between 2 and 5 am local time, compared with the same weekday over the past four weeks. When the number is above 100, more people than usual were awake.

Can I change my answer?

Yes. You can vote once a day and change your answer until midnight. Your vote counts for the day you woke up.

Is this medical advice?

No. Sleep Weather is for curiosity and fun. If you often sleep badly, talk to a doctor.
